everyone is spending thousands trying to look younger. almost no one is investing in the part of the body that actually keeps you young.
here are the 6 habits and my supplement stack for looking better after 40.
it wasn't one big thing.
It was more like catching my reflection and doing a double take. Photos where my face looked different than how I felt.
My skin just looked flatter than it used to. Less full. Fine lines looked louder.
And somewhere in there, I noticed my stomach felt bloated more days than not, for no real reason I could point to.
None of it was dramatic. It just didn't feel like me.
the boring habits that actually matter.
eat enough protein.
Most women over 40 are eating less protein than they think. That matters.
Protein helps preserve muscle mass. Muscle is what helps your body look firm, strong, and shaped instead of softer than you want.
Protein helps steady blood sugar. That means fewer crashes, fewer cravings, and less grazing all day.
Protein helps you stay full. So you stop living off coffee, snacks, and tiny "healthy" meals that do not actually hold you.
And protein matters for your skin too.
Get a real serving at every meal. Eggs. Greek yogurt. Chicken. Fish. Turkey. Tofu. Cottage cheese.
Not perfect. Consistent.
lift weights.
Walking is good. Pilates is good. Stretching is good.
But if you are not doing any resistance training, you are missing one of the biggest levers for how your body ages.
You lose muscle as you get older unless you train to keep it. And muscle changes everything. It changes your shape. It changes your posture. It changes your metabolism. It changes how strong you feel walking into a room.
You do not need to become a gym person. You just need to stop letting muscle disappear while you are busy doing everything else.
Lift something challenging a few times a week. Your future body needs it.
walk every day.
Do not make this complicated. Walk. Especially after meals.
Walking helps move blood, and blood carries oxygen and nutrients through your body.
You do not need a class. You do not need the perfect outfit. You do not need to hit some magic step count.
You need to move your body every day like a person who plans to keep using it.
Just walk.
protect your sleep.
Stop treating sleep like whatever is left over after the day is done.
Your body repairs while you sleep. Your skin. Your hormones. Your appetite. Your mood. Your recovery.
When sleep is off, everything gets harder.
Protect your sleep like it matters. Because it does.
eat healthy fats.
Cutting fat is not the flex we were taught it was.
Your brain needs fat. Your hormones need fat. Your skin barrier needs fat.
Add real fats back in. Eggs. Avocado. Olive oil. Salmon. Nuts. Chia.
Nothing extreme. Just stop trying to age well while cutting out one of the things your body actually needs.
cut back on alcohol.
That "glass of wine to relax" habit adds up faster than most women realize.
Your face. Your cravings. Your recovery. Your energy. All of it.
I stopped drinking every night. Now it's once or twice a month. If that.
The difference in sleep, cravings, recovery, skin, and energy was bigger than I expected.
Keep alcohol low. Your body will show you why.
the other things I take after 40.
A few supplements have made a real difference for me after 40.
They are not exciting. They are just useful. I care about different things now: muscle. sleep. recovery. skin. energy. brain health.
omega-3.
I take omega-3 because I care about my brain, heart, joints, and skin.
I look for EPA + DHA on the label. Not just "fish oil." The details matter.
creatine.
Every woman over 40 should know about creatine.
I take it for muscle, strength, recovery, brain function, and healthy aging.
I take 5 grams a day. Every day. No cycling.
If it makes you feel bloated, try taking it in warm water.
vitamin D3 + K2.
A lot of women are walking around low in vitamin D and have no idea.
Vitamin D matters for bone, muscle, and immune health.
I take D3 with K2 daily, with a meal that has fat in it.
magnesium glycinate.
If your sleep is a mess, start here.
Magnesium glycinate helps me wind down, sleep deeper, and recover better.
Better sleep makes everything else work harder.
the part nobody talks about
stop chasing anti-aging. start building healthier-looking skin.
Everyone's obsessed with collagen, peptides, treatments, whatever's supposed to make skin look younger this year.
One thing almost nobody talks about? Antioxidants. That's a miss.
Healthier-looking skin also means protecting what you already have every day. Pollution. Stress. Bad sleep. Processed food. Too much alcohol. Not enough recovery.
Then it shows up, dullness, fine lines that look louder than they should, and skin that looks less firm than it feels like it should.
That's when I stopped thinking about anti-aging as freezing, filling, or chasing the next expensive cream. I started thinking about building healthier-looking skin every day.
that's why I added Glowbelly every morning:hydration from within
collagen support
antioxidant protection
gut health + digestion
That's why I started taking Glowbelly every morning — for hydration, collagen support, and antioxidant protection.
My skin looked more hydrated. Then plumper. Fine lines didn't look as loud. And feeling less bloated was a nice bonus.
Six months from now, you can still be guessing what to try next.
Or you can have one simple morning step you actually stayed consistent with.
That's why I take Glowbelly.
